240. A cased (enclosed) Moroccan Kumaya presentation knife.  This item was purchased from the local estate of a retired Exxon Oil executive who served in the Middle East during the 1950's.  It has never been out of it transparent plexiglass case since I've owned it which has been approximately 35 years.  I don't know much of anything about these knives and what you see is what you get.  If you desire, I could/would remove it from its case to ship it.  However, this presentation is SIGNED and that backing should, at least, be retained.  I've never attempted to find out what the signature means or to whom it belongs.  It appears to read, "jiaNa or jia Na"  It would be helpful to consult an Arabic friend. I've collected blades for some time and I was drawn to this simply because it was different to my paradigm and it was cased and signed.  I could not ask it's owner since he had passed away and none of the heirs knew anything. The size and weight of this cased item is as follows: 27.5" X 14.5" X 3" and weighs 9lb.3oz.
In the "for what it's worth category," At the time it was purchased, I paid 0. Also, I'm not absolutely certain this item is from Morocco-it IS, however, middle eastern.
