from the estate of a collector who acquired lots of cool items...
most of his items were acquired by his parents, in the 1940s/1950s, he says.
he had me sell 3, what i thought were, antique "gun replicas"—which turned out to be real and quite valuablel! (1850s!)
but i am not knowledgable about exactly what type of dagger this is.  a collector of this type item did write me the following:
    >>
The general term for the second one is a Kukri or what is called a Gurkha in India.  This is a fairly common skinning type of knife.  This looks like a larger example so it would probably be used more as a weapon.  I can't tell what the handle is made of, but if it is [sought after material]
    <--- i think it is!
the piece could have a decent amount of value, though what are the two small 'spikes' protruding out of the scabbard?  If they are separate smaller knives, that could really help the value
    . <<
    <--- they are!
he said the details of the item, etc. would determine the value, so include plenty of pix, which i have done.
feel free to inspect and blow up the pix for details.  this item is in the condition you see, solid with no obvious damage, etc.
i know this is old, because the sheath, and the rope/twinings all have a stiff, almost petrified feel to them.  the handle appears to be the [sought after] material, but i am no expert
this measures 11" and weighs 6.6 oz.
i did *not* attempt to clean this, as i know collectors are picky about this

... come & get this cool dagger (or feel free to enlighten me with more details on exactly what i have!)  ; )
    thanks...
