You are bidding on an antique meat cleaver hog bone chopper knife in good condition.
This is an awesome vintage forged chopper that is approx. 13 1/2” in length and has a heavy 8” blade for chopping meat, bone and hog cuts. The handle is about 5 ¾” long. What is really unique about this cleaver is that it has a double sided tip with a smaller blade on the back edge. It was made by Arthur cutlery in Syracuse NY and has a patent date of 1895. It is very well made carbon forged steel with tang in wooden handle. It has been used a lot and the edge has some wear but it is still in good condition and could be sharpened and cleaned up nicely if desired. It has some light corrosion spots on the blade and the edges have a few small dings. The wood handle shows some age but is very secure attached to tang and solid. This would be a nice cleaver for use again or just great to add to your vintage knife collection.
