CAM III VINTAGE SAMURAI IVORY MICARTA KNIFE & WOODEN CASE– 1970s LTD. SERIES :
Listed is a very collectible CAM III Samurai ivory micarta handle knife in a beautifully illustrated blue silk-lined wooden storage case. Only 200 pieces (Serial Numbered) of this design model were made in the late 1970s by Mitsubishi in Seki City, Japan, and were almost immediately sold out. This one is numbered “071”. The handles scales are Westinghouse ivory micarta with red liners nickel-silver bolsters & rivet pins. The mirror polished 4.50” blade is made of vanadium-molybdenum AUS-8 steel. The knife’s overall length 9.87” Stamped on the wooden case and the knife is the Serial # 071 and CAM III: These are the initials of Charles Arthur Mahon III. The blade is also stamped “AUS-8, Vanadium-Molybdenum, Japan.” Chuck designed the knives and had them built in Japan. Chuck lived in Japan for a time with USAF and is now retired. Chuck was a Chief Master Sergeant and Korean War Veteran. This fine collectible comes with the original black sheath, platic blade cover, slip cover & Wood Presentation Box.
