CHINESE VINTAGE JINGDEZHEN PORCELAIN LIDDED DECORATIVE TUREEN/CASSEROLE DISH

Description

This beautiful Jingdezhen porcelain tureen/casserole dish was purchased in the 1970s, in Hong Kong. It features a colorful painted pattern of butterflies, blossoms and twining vines on the white porcelain bowl and lid. Flower on top of lid knob; decoration on rim of bowl. Two handles. The bowl measures about 10” in width across the top by 3½” tall; 5¾” diameter at the base; full height of piece with lid is about 7”. It is marked with red Chinese characters and “Made in China.” Apparently comes from in or near Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, Southern China. Excellent condition with no chips, nicks, cracks, damage or repairs. No indication that the piece was ever used, only to-be-expected slight wear on rim of base. Comes from a private collection. A charming addition to a collection or as a special piece on the table! Non-smoking household.
