Description

Lot of 2 vintage or antique suede leather covered booklets.  The larger item, measuring about 9" x 4-1/8", is a blotter booklet with a leather cutout of a yellow rose glued on suede leather and imprinted with "Blot out my faults but not my memory" and the name "Cora Roop" and "Petoskty" and year "1909" (or maybe "1904").  There are 4 blotter papers attached with two brass fasteners.  The papers are stained and could easily be replaced.  The photo shows the first one which is the most stained one.  The smaller item, measuring about 6" x 3-3/8", is a photo booklet with a suede leather cover imprinted with "Photographs", "Portland, ME" and a scene of an Indian Teepee.  It has 1 black paper page with a 1920s black and white photo (unidentified) on each side.  I added the new leather string to hold them together.  From an antique dealer's estate in NH.

SALES/USE TAX NOTE:  As of October 1, 2019, eBay will collect sales or use tax on applicable transactions for buyers in most states, such as Arizona, California, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah and so on. The applicable sales tax based on buyer's address will be added to your invoice to pay in eBay.  Some states require the sales tax to apply to the shipping and handling and some do not (i.e., Massachusetts).  For other states,  I am based in California and sometimes sell items located in Massachusetts and my eBay sales do not require a sales tax to be collected as my total yearly sales are below those state's minimum requirements for either total dollars or number of transactions for a "remote seller".  I am re-selling items collected by myself and family over many years and not buying new inventory to make a profit.  eBay should not be charging the buyer a sales or use tax for those states not requiring a sales or use tax.  Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon have no sales or use taxes at all.   But states update their laws at any time,  so please be aware.
