A Customized Martin Machete
This looks to be a vintage 18-Inch Martin machete blade. It has a wood handle secured with rivets and a  handguard crafted of 1/8" brass with hand engraving.  There's a leather washer at the front of the handguard where it rests on the scabbard.
The scabbard is made from two pieces of
what I think is 1
/4" marine plywood.  It has brass hardware. The brass tip is made from three piece, a front and back and an edge strip, with soldered joints.  The scabbard weighs 1 lb 13 oz. It's a sturdy piece, nicely made. A lot of work went into this scabbard.
I don't see any markings on the piece other than the Martin - Made in Belgium stamp.  There's a crucifix on the left side of the blade. There's a sort of monogram on the handguard.  See the photos.
The blade is 17-1/2" long and about 2-1/8" wide at the widest point.  The overall length is 23 inches.  The machete without the scabbard weighs 1 lb 13 ounces.
It's sharp.  The blade is in good condition, straight, and with no nicks and no rust.
