  • Condition: I believe this old knife is a Pre-War L. L. Bean knife made in Germany (just my guess??). The cutting edge has no chips or nicks on it (see pics). The stacked leather handle, pommel/butt and brass bolster/finger guard are all still nice and tight, not loose at all. Nice and clear makers mark on the blade that reads: "L. L. BEAN FREEPORT, MAINE MADE IN GERMANY" (see pics). The leather sheath is in fair to good condition The snap still works, but it might be starting to rip though the leather strap just a bit. All of the stitching and rivets are still in place, not missing or ripped out (see pics). I believe the leather sheath might be original to the knife, maybe???

    Very RARE! Old/Vtg/Antique L.L. Bean Made In Germany Fixed Blade Hunting Knife With The Original Leather Sheath?
    I believe this old
    knife is a Pre-War L. L. Bean knife made in Germany (just my guess??). The cutting edge has no chips or nicks on it (see pics). The stacked leather handle, pommel/butt and brass bolster/finger guard are all still nice and tight, not loose at all. Nice and clear makers mark on the blade that reads: "L. L. BEAN FREEPORT, MAINE MADE IN GERMANY" (see pics). The leather sheath is in fair to good condition. The snap still works, but it might be starting to rip though the leather strap just a bit. All of the stitching and rivets are still in place, not missing or ripped out (see pics). I believe the leather sheath might be original to the knife??? The knife is almost 8-3/4" long. The blade is 4-3/4" long. The knife weighs in at 3.6 oz. This old knife is in very good condition for being possibly 100 + years old.
