EXTREMELY RARE AND HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE
Up for your consideration is this Rare Handmade Vintage Mexican Saca Tripas, Navaja, Tranchete Bull Horn Handle Folding Knife...in perfect working condition.
These tranchetes/ saca tripas were typically used by Mexican Ranchero's, field workers and popularized by revolutionaries in the Mexican American War. Also known as Mexican fighting knives.
The piece is handmade and very solid.
The handle is made of authentic bovine/bull horn. Some signs of typical age, as the horn has dried but still in very solid condition.
The blade is made of solid high carbon steel and appears to be hand hammered.
The lockback spring latch made of quality spring steel and both hand rivited solid. No wobble
The knife is a folder with an easy to release lock-back spring latch. Simply pry up on the latch with your finger nail until it releases the catch mechanism and fold the blade closed.
