Yep, this is one piece of solid D2 tool steel.This is an exceptionally rare, custom Ted Dowell knife from one of the all-time great knife makers.
It has an awesome, exhibition-grade Stag handle with red liners and an integral guard.
Handle medallion and sheath are stamped TMD. This one has never been used or re-sharpened.
Original edge from the day Mr. Dowell finished it.
I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Dowell in 2006 at the Solvang Knife Show. Unfortunately he is no longer with us and is greatly missed by the knife making community. This is a rare example of his earlier work and will be passed on to the family as an heirloom. 8-15/16" overall length.
