Vintage 1946 Post WWII Philippines Souvenir Knife and Leather Sheath

Description

This is a WWII-era Philippines Souvenir knife with original leather sheath stamped “1946”. Right side of the blade has “PHILIPPINES” engraved with floral designs flanked on both sides of lettering (
see picture #2
). The carbon steel blade has a slight bend around 1 & ¼” from the tip (
see picture # 10
) but no scratches, scrapes or nicks. In addition, the aluminum handle has been directly cast onto the blade with ornate floral designs on both sides. Right side of handle boasts knobbed opal-like decorations with “***PHILIPPINES***” engraving. Left side of handle has engraved “***SOUVENIR***” lettering. (

). Original handmade leather sheath is well constructed--only issue is missing decorative “tassle-like” tip. Aside from these issues, the leather is still rigid, well preserved, has no mold and sheath is in great working form.

- 3/16” of an inch thick blade (
at thickest point then tapers thinner towards the tip
)
- 12” inches overall length
