    Description

Vintage HANDMADE 12" HORN HANDLED HUNTING KNIFE With LEATHER SHEATH.
POSSIBLY Native American: Menominee, Oneida, Potawatomi.
Knife is almost exactly 12" long. It has a horn handle wrapped in leather as shown. I have no idea how long the tang is, although the knife blade seems firm in the handle. The blade could possibly be from an old kitchen knife, or made from a blank. I cannot tell. There are marks found.
The handmade leather sheath is definitely made for this knife. It is in very good condition. The leather is still 'live'. A nice thoughtfully made sheath; good workmanship
I have no idea of the age or origin of the knife and sheath. It has been in my family since I was a child (74 years). If it was of Native American origin there is a strong possibility it was from a tribe in the Milwaukee WI to Appleton WI range: Menominee, Oneida, Potawatomi... No guarantee that the knife is of Native American origin.
