The overgrowth corrosion was removed, but it has been over 30 years ago and has been kept in a collection since.

    Here is a rare Old fixed blade Bowie, hunting, skinning knife in age appropriate condition!!
    This old knife may have been used but was not abused, blade is full and knife looks great!! The blade is 99% full or better, blade is clean with visible scratches and scuffs as well as natural tarnish, knife is still in good condition and has been kept in an indoor collection, see pictures for details.
    The handles are not original, they are custom made to fit by an old friend, but never finished, (also done many many years ago) he passed before finishing the custom old look bone. The handles are in good condition as well, they have slightly dried over the years but are not cracked. I have no idea what handles the knife originally had. The knife was found near the mouth of a mining cave of an abandoned mining camp so long ago I can hardly recall where.
    The handles have no chips, no cracks, no major dings, the scales are loose due to the unfinished pinning of them
    .
    This Old Bowie knife is not a common everyday made knife, its a hand made old west Bowie knife seldom seen today. This rare beauty is in great shape for the age, without a doubt, it will indeed make a fine addition to the next collection.
