VINTAGE OYSTER KNIFE BILOXI BAY MISSISSIPPI NAIL BRIDGE

Vintage oyster knife recently acquired from the second owner who purchased this down in Biloxi Bay Mississippi a few decades ago
This is one of the more interesting oyster knives from a large collection
I’ve been told this was possibly made from an extra piece when building one of the local bridges back in the 1940s
This does appear it’s a large 8 sided nail or bolt that has been ground down
This has been in a private collection on Masons Island in Connecticut and is one of the few with some actual provenance
There is a piece of tape that was wrapped around the handle which the glue has dried up
The tape has writing on it saying ‘ Biloxi Bay 1940s ‘
