    Description

Viola 5-string full size 16" acoustic electric w/ bow and case - set up to play!
This full size acoustic electric Viola is ready to play! Don't be fooled by those cheap ones you see online - those are generally un-playable: they have really cheap strings – horrible! - and they've not been set up to play properly.
This 5-string Viola has been professionally set up to play well, and has recent D'Addario high quality Viola strings. The strings alone cost nearly 0, but good strings make a huge difference in tone and play-ability.
Importantly, this Viola has a built-in powered preamp. Most of those cheap ones you see online do not have a preamp at all, just a so-called "passive" tone control. These kinds of instruments require a preamp to play through an amplifier - just ask any experienced musician. This viola has a built-in preamp powered by 9 volt battery.  It also has both a standard audio output jack, PLUS a separate headphone jack so you can monitor your sound when playing in a group.  The powered preamp produces plenty of audio signal to drive a wireless transmitter/receiver system - no need for clumsy cables!
I struggled for many years to play a regular violin without success. There was just not enough room on the fingerboard. This full size 5-string Viola provides you with a little more "real estate" on the fingerboard to make proper notes. It's got the low C string of a viola and the high E string of a violin, so it's the best of both worlds!  I've had a blast playing this Viola, but I've just upgraded to a much more expensive one.  So now it's your turn to enjoy this fun instrument!
Notes: 1. Has a slight worn spot on the Scroll where I attach a tuner - it's useful during practice to have a tuner attached & turned on. You should buy a Violin-type tuner, but you'll need a rubber band to hold it on during practice. 2. The Stand and Tuner you see in some of the photos are NOT included.  3.You'll need to buy a 9-volt battery for the Preamp - I don't want to ship it with a battery in it.  4. You'll need to buy Rosin for the Bow - that's only - at any music store.
Will pack and ship anywhere, buyer pays shipping + insurance cost.
