    Description

    This replacement viola
    tailgut or tail gut
    is made with Kevlar, the
    high-strength
fiber formed into a round braided line, 5/64 inches in diameter.
FIBER TYPE: 100% Genuine Dupont Black and Yellow Kevlar(R) yarn made in the USA. No off brand substitution. No fine print about other fibers in the braid!
This Kevlar line is extremely stable, and has significant sound-enhancing properties. Experience the perfect sound transmission and harmoniously optimized sound transmission after tailgut replacement.
This round, braided Kevlar suspension string is very flexible, allowing for unrestricted movement of the tailpiece.
This Kevlar line is precision cut to a fine tipped point for easy insertion into the tailpiece anchoring holes. Then the line is stabilized to prevent unravelling. These viola tailguts are cut to a length of 9 1/2 inches, which works well on violas. Custom tailgut lengths are available on request.
To install, tie the ends together using the drop form of the double Fisherman's knot (Not to be confused with a fisherman's bend). You can find a description of the knot by googling, "Wikipedia double
    Fisherman's knot."
And a tutorial on how to tie it by googling "

YouTube has excellent animated demonstration of
    tying
