    Description

    Custom knife maker Wayne Hensley of Georgia has been renowned for high quality hunting, fighting, and outdoor knives from 1973 to the present day, and any of his works are sought after and highly prized. This Vintage WAYNE HENSLEY CUSTOM BROWN JIGGED BONE HANDLE FIXED BLADE HUNTING KNIFE is in very good condition, with some light sharpening to the blade edge, some pitting at the middle left side of the blade and the reverse ricasso, two of the letter "Y" present in the "HENSLEYY" maker's mark at the ricasso, some light scratching and spot patina to the bolster, a hairline surface crack emanating from the rivet at the upper left handle scale, and with some scattered age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the knife is in fine shape, with no other damage. Most interestingly, it features a gleaming 2 3/8" saber ground drop point blade with elegant file work along the lower spine, boasts gorgeous jigged brown bone handle scales secured by two metal rivets, and is simply stamped at the ricasso with the inverted maker's mark of the famous "HENSLEYY" (the second "Y" was almost certainly an inadvertent mistake on his part). It sports an understated metal bolster, measures 6 3/16" long overall, and is a fine example of a very rare, original Vintage WAYNE HENSLEY CUSTOM BROWN JIGGED BONE HANDLE FIXED BLADE HUNTING KNIFE.
