    Description

An extremely rare, completely authentic, cased presentation dagger to which somebody added a ladie's garter, made by Will & Finck of San Francisco, California circa last half of the 19th century. The stamped and branded original case identifies this as the "Rosarita" model dagger, supposedly designed to be worn in the accompanying garter. These were likely considered a novelty item to which later collectors have contributed. Gilded silver furnishings, horn handle, and hand-wrought blade. All original and correct with no damage, replacements or repairs. Authenticity of the dagger is absolutely guaranteed. Of known provenance. Yes, we are aware of an article that branded such items as fake. That article was with narrow reference to a M Price fake that has nothing to do with this knife, which the author of that article never examined. As stated we have auction history of this knife all the way back to day one. It is our belief these were novelty items from the Gay 90s. A fantastic addition to any early California knifemaker collection, with a colorful history. The stiletto is almost impossible to find by itself, and this is one of only three known examples with original case and garter. Get it for yourself, or your favorite Lady of the Evening! Condition is excellent for age. Shipped with USPS First Class (3 to 5 business days).
